Discovery
It all begins with a conversation. During our initial phone call, we will work with you to understand your ideas, desires, and objectives. Your input is invaluable in shaping the foundation of our design concept. As part of our discovery, we require that all properties undergo a Site Survey prior to initiating the design process. We will coordinate this service on your behalf.
Documentation
The construction document phase is a crucial stage in the design process, where the creative vision starts to take concrete form and become a reality. It is characterized by the development of detailed documentation that serves as the blueprint for construction. These documents are the critical bridge between the design phase and the actual construction of your project.
Design
Once your Site Survey has been completed, our design team delves into the details, creating initial hand-drawn design concepts that capture your vision. We will invite you to participate in a collaborative design charette in which we explore various ideas and present you with a range of possibilities.
Permitting
Once construction documentation and supporting materials are complete, we will assist you in submitting your permit application. Projects undergo a plan check/review process to ensure that all documents align with local building codes and regulations. The plan check may result in corrections or clarifications, which will be addressed as they come in. We serve as a liaison between the client and the permitting agency to ensure that all questions and concerns are addressed promptly and accurately. We will be by your side until permit approval is achieved.
Development
Once we have a concept that resonates with you, we dive into the design development phase. This is where your project starts taking shape, with architectural and structural details being refined. We work closely with you to fine-tune the design, ensuring it aligns with your preferences. Your feedback is instrumental in shaping the final result.
*Bid Process
Once the construction documents are completed and submitted for permit approval, your project can be put out for bids. While we do not coordinate this process as a part of our services, WSJ Designs has a network of contractors that we would be happy to recommend upon your request.
